Polflam Product Description
The Polflam fire-resistance glass, likewise typical glass units, consists of two panes, a metal expansion section, traditional two-stage edge sealing and an additional colorless hydrogel filling of the glazing cavity.
- Polflam single glass: pane / spacer bar + hydrogel / pane
- Polflam glass unit: pane / spacer bar + hydrogel / pane / spacer bar / pane
Depending on the thickness of the hydrogel layer, the glass satisfies fire resistance criteria according to the EN1363 Standard:
- EI15
- EI30
- EI60
- EI90
- EI120
The Polflam fire-resistance glass is characterized by:
- high light transmittance factor Lt up to 91%
- good thermal transmittance factor U = 3,8W/(m²·K) – Polflam EI60
- high sound insulation factor Rw 45dB
- 1/B/1 class safety glass
- temperature range +50°C / -20°C
- ultraviolet radiation resistance
The above data refer to a single pane in outside applications.
An additional pane for external applications improves the glass unit’s parameters as follows:
- thermal insulation up to U=1.0
- solar insulation – low total solar energy transmittance factor g depends on the applied coating
- safety class, from anti-burglary P1 to bulletproof BR
Maximum dimensions and thicknesses of the glass, and thus its weights, are specified in technical approvals containing the description of the Polflam fire-resistant glass.
Other features of the Polflam fire-resistant glass:
- technology enabling us to manufacture shaped fire-resistant glass
- possibility to manufacture panes with curved or rounded edges
- ultraviolet radiation resistance - there is no need to use laminated glazing
- resistance to contact with water
- better resistance to solar energy absorption achieved thanks to toughened glass
- weight reduced by 20% as compared to fire-resistance glass composed of several float glass layers
- there is no need to use protective tapes on the glass edges
